Since I’ve asked my students to chronicle the process they’re going through creating their final projects, I thought I should add a few posts from my perch. I’m putting together the class blog, struggling with the age-old pedagogical challenge — how much should I do vs. how much should I make my students do.
Last term my students set up the blog and imported their content, added great visuals, created a real information clearinghouse about New Media. This term the students created and are using their own blogs to chronicle their process. They’ve learned the blog thing, so that “learning outcome” has been met. Truth is, this is my first real foray into setting up a blog myself. I did it. I’m an old newshound Old school. Old media. (Not that old!) but if I can do this, anybody can.
So I set this up and am asking students to throw their content on here as authors, while continuing to maintain their own blogs.
I’ve invited them — you — to remake the blog in any way they like. Let’s see what they do!
